Privacy Policy

Check & Switch — Last updated: August 2026

1. Who We Are

Check & Switch is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

Contact us about data: info@checkandswitch.com

2. What Data We Collect

Through the quote request form we collect:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number and preferred contact time
  • Business name, type, size and industry sector
  • Details of current services and providers
  • Service requirements
  • IP address and browser/device information (via analytics tools)
  • UTM parameters and referral source (for marketing attribution only)

3. Why We Collect It and Our Legal Basis

We collect and process your data to:

  • Respond to your quote request (Legal basis: Legitimate Interest / Contract)
  • Match you with suitable providers from our panel (Legitimate Interest)
  • Send a confirmation email (Legitimate Interest)
  • Improve our website and service (Legitimate Interest)
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations (Legal Obligation)

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We may share your personal data with:

  • Providers on our panel (FCA-authorised lenders, insurers, banks, telecoms providers, utility providers and other business service providers) — only to the extent necessary to obtain quotes or make introductions relevant to your specific enquiry
  • Resend — our email delivery provider, for sending confirmation emails
  • PostHog — analytics platform, anonymised session and event data only, stored on EU servers (eu.posthog.com)
  • Vercel — our hosting and analytics provider, anonymised performance data only (Core Web Vitals, page load times)

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

We do not share your data with any provider not relevant to your enquiry.

5. Transfers Outside the UK

We do not transfer your personal data outside the United Kingdom. Your data is stored and processed in the UK, and the providers we introduce you to are UK firms.

If this position changes in future, we will update this notice before any transfer takes place, and we will put in place an appropriate safeguard recognised under Article 46 UK GDPR — such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses — together with a transfer risk assessment.

You can ask us at any time about where your data is held, using the contact details below.

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain quote request data for 2 years from the date of submission. After this period, data is permanently deleted. You may request earlier deletion at any time — see Section 8.

7. Automated Decision-Making and Profiling

We do not make any decision about you by automated means alone, and we do not carry out profiling. We are an introducer: the decision to offer you credit or insurance is made by the lender, insurer or provider we introduce you to, not by us.

Those providers may use automated decision-making or profiling as part of their own application and credit assessment processes. Where they do, they are the data controller for that processing and their own privacy information will explain it, including your rights in relation to it.

8. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Right to be informed — to be told how your personal data is collected and used, which is the purpose of this notice.
  • Access the personal data we hold about you (Subject Access Request)
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Object to processing of your data
  • Request restriction of processing
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Rights relating to automated decision-making and profiling — to object to a decision made about you solely by automated means without human involvement, and to profiling.

To exercise any of these rights, contact: info@checkandswitch.com. We will respond within 30 days of receiving your request.

9. How to Make a Complaint

If you are unhappy about how your personal data has been used by us, please contact us first at info@checkandswitch.com so that we can register and address your complaint.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, which regulates the processing of personal data. You can contact them using the details below.
